Apple has quietly discontinued the Mac Pro desktop tower, leaving the Mac Studio as its most powerful professional Mac.
Apple has confirmed that it has discontinued the Mac Pro, the professional desktop tower last updated in 2023. The device no longer appears in Apple’s online store or Mac lineup, according to reports. With the move, the smaller Mac Studio becomes the company’s top professional desktop computer.
The Mac Pro debuted in 2019 with a “cheese-grater” design, Intel processors and expansion slots aimed at high-end users. Apple later upgraded it with the M2 Ultra chip, but the Mac Studio, introduced in 2022, gained prominence as Apple shifted fully to its custom M-series processors, making the larger tower less central to its lineup.
