Epstein’s former cellmate alleges a government conspiracy left both him and the disgraced financier vulnerable, casting new doubt on the official account of Epstein’s death.
In a 21-page pardon petition obtained by the Daily Mail, former police officer Nicholas Tartaglione alleges that the government deliberately left Jeffrey Epstein unprotected in his Manhattan jail cell. Tartaglione, accused of a quadruple murder, wrote: “I clearly was not protected on purpose, nor was Epstein. I truly believe that the government wanted both Epstein and me dead.” He claims housing alongside Epstein was part of a calculated effort to ensure the financier would not survive to trial.
Tartaglione also asserts that prosecutors, including Maurene Comey, pressured Epstein to implicate President Trump in his crimes. Newly released DOJ files show possible inmate movement near Epstein’s cell the night of his death, contradicting official accounts. Officially ruled a suicide, Epstein had been found with prior neck injuries and CCTV cameras outside his cell had malfunctioned. Tartaglione denies harming Epstein and claims he tried to save him.
