Former President Joe Biden condemned the fatal shootings of two American citizens by federal agents in Minneapolis, calling the deaths of Alex Pretti, 37, and Renee Good, 37, “senseless.” Without naming President Trump, Biden criticized the administration Tuesday, writing that events “betrays our most basic values as Americans.” He wrote: “We are not a nation that guns down our citizens in the street.”
Border Patrol agents shot Pretti, a VA nurse, four days before Biden’s statement. Good was killed earlier by an ICE agent who fired into her SUV. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem immediately labeled Pretti a “domestic terrorist,” drawing bipartisan criticism. Biden called for “full, fair, and transparent investigations.” Former President Barack Obama also condemned the killings Sunday.
