In a surprise White House announcement on Thursday, First Lady Melania Trump categorically denied any personal or professional ties to the late Jeffrey Epstein, asserting that persistent rumors linking them “need to end today.” Addressing online speculation regarding her introduction to Donald Trump and a 2002 email with Ghislaine Maxwell, the First Lady dismissed the claims as “mean-spirited attempts to defame my reputation” and characterized the correspondence as a mere “polite reply.”
Trump clarified that she was never victimized by or a participant in Epstein’s activities, stating, “I have never had any knowledge of Epstein abuse of his victims. I was never involved in any capacity. I was not a participant.” Moving beyond personal defense, she urged lawmakers to convene formal hearings for Epstein’s survivors, arguing that “each and every woman should have her day to tell her story in public if she wishes, and then her testimony should be permanently entered into the congressional record. Then, and only then, we will have the truth.”
