Noem’s controversial luxury jet to be repurposed for Melania’s personal use…

The Trump administration’s $70 million ICE jet, criticized for its luxury features, will now serve First Lady Melania Trump and select Cabinet officials amid political scrutiny.

The $70 million luxury jet purchased under the Trump administration for Immigration and Customs Enforcement will now be used by First Lady Melania Trump and select Cabinet officials. The aircraft, originally intended to support mass deportation operations, features a bedroom, showers, a kitchen, four flat-screen TVs, and a bar. It was previously leased by DHS and used by former Secretary Kristi Noem on a trip to Tel Aviv.

Some DHS officials privately questioned whether the high-end 737 was necessary for Noem’s deportation agenda. A DHS spokesperson said one bedroom is being converted for seating to meet deportation mission needs. Despite criticism, the White House and DHS maintain the aircraft will provide secure, long-range mobility for Cabinet members.

The reassignment of the jet sparked political chatter, with NBC reporting GOP officials circulated the story among top party members. The Republican National Committee, however, downplayed the coverage, emphasizing routine media monitoring and communications. Noem was ousted as DHS Secretary in March, shortly before Markwayne Mullin was confirmed as her successor.
