Justice Department files reveal extensive communications and financial links between Deepak Chopra and Jeffrey Epstein, despite Chopra’s public denial of any misconduct.
Newly released Justice Department files show that author and wellness figure Deepak Chopra maintained a close relationship with Jeffrey Epstein between 2016 and 2019, exchanging hundreds of emails and texts. The correspondence, reviewed by CNN, indicates frequent contact and in-person visits. Earlier this month, Chopra wrote on X: “I was never involved in, nor did I participate in, any criminal or exploitative conduct. Any contact I had was limited and unrelated to abusive activity.”
The messages reveal warm exchanges and invitations to travel together. In a 2017 email, Chopra wrote: “If you want use a fake name. Bring your girls,” later adding, “Your girls would love it as would you.” In another exchange, when Epstein remarked, “I liked watching you zero in on your prey,” Chopra responded: “I not a predator Just a lover.” Chopra later said some emails reflected “poor judgment in tone.”
The files also show Epstein offered financial support to Chopra-linked ventures, including a $50,000 donation from one of Epstein’s foundations to the Chopra Foundation in 2017. The two discussed business ideas, politics and media coverage, with Chopra advising Epstein to “Stay silent Meditate.” The presence of a name in the files is not indicative of wrongdoing, and when recently asked about misconduct, Chopra replied: “No misconduct.”
