An 11-year-old Pennsylvania boy appeared in court in handcuffs today, facing adult charges of criminal homicide after allegedly shooting his adoptive father to death over a confiscated video game.
According to authorities, Clayton Dietz became enraged after his parents ordered him to bed after midnight and took away his Nintendo Switch. Investigators state the youth searched for the device in a gun safe but instead discovered a set of keys and a revolver, which he then used to fatally shoot 42-year-old Douglas Dietz. Under Pennsylvania law, the severity of the offense has mandated that the minor be processed through the adult justice system.
