The U.S. Secret Service confirmed that an armed suspect was shot and killed early Sunday morning after breaching the secure perimeter of President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida. According to authorities, the individual—identified as a man in his early 20s from North Carolina—was observed near the north gate at approximately 1:30 a.m. carrying what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel can.
The suspect reportedly drove through the gate as another vehicle was exiting and was immediately confronted by Secret Service agents and a Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputy. President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were at the White House at the time of the incident and were not in any immediate danger.
