Security breach at Mar-a-Lago: Armed man with shotgun and fuel can fatally shot by agents

Secret Service agents fatally shot an armed man from North Carolina after he breached the secure perimeter of Mar-a-Lago with a shotgun and a fuel can while President Trump was away in Washington.

The U.S. Secret Service confirmed that an armed suspect was shot and killed early Sunday morning after breaching the secure perimeter of President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida. According to authorities, the individual—identified as a man in his early 20s from North Carolina—was observed near the north gate at approximately 1:30 a.m. carrying what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel can.

The suspect reportedly drove through the gate as another vehicle was exiting and was immediately confronted by Secret Service agents and a Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputy. President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were at the White House at the time of the incident and were not in any immediate danger.
