A 30-year-old US-based Nigerian fashion designer, Sheriff Shittu, was shot dead following an altercation with a drunk patron at a nightclub in Brooklyn, New York City. The incident occurred in the early hours of February 14 at Quilox Restaurant and Lounge Brooklyn, where a suspected gunman allegedly opened fire while being escorted out by security after causing a disturbance inside the venue.
Witness accounts said the confrontation began after the patron allegedly behaved disorderly and inappropriately touched female guests, including Shittu’s girlfriend, leading to a heated exchange. Shittu was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, while police said the suspect fled the scene and remains at large as investigations continue and authorities launch a manhunt.
