A veteran employee who said she was denied a promotion refused to train the younger hire chosen over her and later secured a severance package.
A veteran employee says she was passed over for a promotion in favor of a 25-year-old graduate and then asked to train her replacement. Jennifer Schroeder shared the account in a viral Feb. 10 TikTok video, saying, “I watched a 25-year-old get my promotion, and then they asked me to train her. Here’s what I said — No.”
“They passed me over for a promotion that I had earned… and then expected me to teach her how to do the job they said I wasn’t good enough for,” she said, adding, “The audacity is stunning, isn’t it?” Schroeder later negotiated six months of severance after what she described as workplace fallout.
