Veteran broadcaster Scott Pelley has broken his silence following his dismissal from CBS, declaring that “CBS News is on fire” and calling for editor-in-chief Bari Weiss to be removed from her position.
In an interview with CNN, Pelley accused Weiss of poor leadership and claimed she exerted political influence over editorial decisions at the iconic news program 60 Minutes. He argued that the bigger issue at CBS was not politics but what he described as incompetence at the top.
The controversy follows a major sh producers and correspondents ake-up at 60 Minutes, where several seniorwere shown the exit door. Pelley said staff members were left heartbroken by the changes.
