Paraguayan senator Celeste Amarilla, who faced global backlash for racially abusing Kylian Mbappe after France’s World Cup win over Paraguay, now claims her Instagram was hacked.
Senator Who Racially Abused Mbappe Claims Instagram Was Hacked
Celeste Amarilla is changing her tune. Days after posting a racially charged attack on France captain Kylian Mbappe following his penalty winner in France’s 1-0 round-of-32 win over Paraguay, the senator says her Instagram account has been compromised. Her original remarks, made in a now-deleted X post, sparked global condemnation from world leaders and Paraguay’s own government, The Cable reports.
As backlash mounted, more anti-Mbappe posts continued appearing on her Instagram, prompting her Thursday claim that she’d lost control of the account “possibly since this morning.” By Friday, she said she’d regained access, posting defiantly that the French could “keep being annoying.”
