British actress Emaa Hussen has been charged in Australia over an alleged scheme to import 320kg of methamphetamine worth roughly $300 million, hidden inside charcoal shipments from Ghana, according to SaharaReporters.
A familiar face from British TV is now facing Australia’s courts — and a possible life sentence. According to SaharaReporters, EastEnders spin-off actress Emaa Hussen, 34, has been charged after allegedly helping smuggle 320kg of methamphetamine, worth about $300 million, into Sydney inside charcoal containers shipped from Ghana.
Australian Federal Police say border officials spotted irregularities back in April, X-rays revealed the hidden drugs, and Hussen allegedly oversaw their unloading at a Sydney storage site before her arrest in Blacktown. Two more suspects were nabbed in Adelaide for using fake IDs to rent the storage units.
Hussen’s been denied bail and returns to court in August.
