Argentine footballer Lucas Trejo is in mourning after his wife and two children were found dead following devastating earthquakes in Venezuela. Peoples Gazette reports that the bodies of Yanina Maranella and their children, Aarón and Ainhoa, were recovered after a 74-hour search inside the collapsed Playa Grande apartment building.
Trejo was in Caracas with his club, Marítimo de La Guaira, when the quakes struck. He had taken to social media to appeal for help finding his family, while his father and brother flew in from Argentina to join the search.
Former Venezuelan footballer Edson Tortolero confirmed the devastating discovery. Marítimo de La Guaira has since extended condolences and requested privacy for the grieving defender.
