Paul Pelosi, husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was involved in a hit-and-run in Yountville, California, and could face misdemeanour charges for fleeing the scene.

Paul Pelosi, 86, struck a legally parked car while driving his brown convertible in Yountville, a Napa County wine country town, briefly stopped and then drove away on Friday, AP News reports.
A witness called 911, and sheriff’s deputies found Pelosi a quarter of a mile away with front-end damage to his vehicle. He told officers he knew he hit something but was unsure what caused the damage.
No injuries were reported and Pelosi had no alcohol in his system. The sheriff’s office recommended a misdemeanour charge for fleeing the scene and referred him to the Department of Motor Vehicles to assess whether he should continue driving — a standard procedure for older drivers, authorities said.
Pelosi was not arrested. In 2022, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanour drink-driving charges in the same county and was sentenced to five days in jail, serving two.
