Palm Beach International Airport in Florida has been officially renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport, part of a broader trend of placing the president’s name on landmarks, currency and government institutions.
Florida Airport Renamed After Trump
Palm Beach just got a major rebrand — and it comes with the president’s name attached.
According to a report by The Punch, the nearly 50-year-old Palm Beach International Airport was renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport on Thursday, with the change signed into law by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Eric Trump marked the occasion by landing the family’s private jet, “Trump Force One,” at the newly christened airport near Mar-a-Lago.
Reactions from travellers were split, with one pilot calling it well-deserved and a doctor branding it “poor taste.”
The renaming joins a growing list of Trump-branded landmarks, including a Tennessee bridge, government visa programs, and an upcoming signature on US dollar notes.
