Cuba’s ruling Castro family is reportedly proposing a luxury resort named “Trump Island” in a bid to stave off a possible U.S. military intervention.
Cuba Offers Trump Luxury Resort Amid Invasion Fears
Cuba’s government is reportedly floating a striking offer: a private luxury resort dubbed “Trump Island” on Cayo Santa Maria, aimed at appealing to Trump’s real estate instincts, according to the U.S. Sun.
The pitch comes as a U.S. naval oil blockade has crippled Cuba’s fuel supply, triggering blackouts and tourism collapse.
Washington has positioned the USS Nimitz carrier group nearby, and Trump has said “Cuba is going to be next” after recent leadership shifts in Venezuela and Iran. U.S. officials say no formal negotiations have occurred, though the Abu Dhabi group has approached the Trump Organization about naming rights.
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel has warned an invasion would destabilize the region and vowed resistance.
