Britain has a new leader in waiting. Keir Starmer walked out of 10 Downing Street on Monday, hand in hand with his wife Victoria, before heading to Buckingham Palace to formally hand in his resignation to King Charles III, according to Vanguard.

“I go with good grace, I go with a smile, and I go proud of everything that we have achieved,” Starmer told reporters, insisting he leaves Britain “stronger and fairer” than he found it two years ago.

His exit paves the way for Andy Burnham, the popular former Greater Manchester mayor, to step into No. 10 as Britain’s seventh prime minister in a decade — capping months of pressure within Starmer’s own Labour Party.
