Vance says officer in Minneapolis fatal shooting was previously dragged by vehicle

U.S. Vice President JD Vance on Thursday said the federal immigration officer who fatally shot a 37-year-old woman in Minneapolis had previously been seriously injured after being dragged by a vehicle. Speaking at the White House, Vance said the officer “nearly had his life ended” six months earlier, requiring more than 30 stitches, as officials remain divided over whether the shooting was self-defense or excessive force.
