Minnesota and the Twin Cities on Monday sued the Trump administration, seeking to halt what they described as a “federal invasion of the Twin Cities” through intensified immigration enforcement.
The lawsuit argues Operation Metro Surge unlawfully commandeers state resources and violates local laws. Federal officials say more than 2,000 arrests have been made. Tensions have escalated following an ICE-involved shooting that killed US citizen Renee Good, sparking protests and sharp exchanges between state and federal officials.
