Usha Vance, wife of Vice-President JD Vance, has announced via social media that she is pregnant with the couple’s fourth child, a boy expected in late July, with a statement confirming that “Usha and the baby are doing well.”
The 40-year-old Second Lady, who met her husband at Yale Law School and previously worked as a corporate litigator and for conservative judges like Chief Justice John Roberts, is making history as the first to have a baby while serving in her role, though First Ladies like Frances Cleveland have had children in the White House before.
The announcement aligns with the Vice-President’s public advocacy for higher U.S. birth rates, as he stated in 2025, “Let me say very simply: I want more babies in the United States of America.”
