A group of eight suspects wearing ski masks launched a “violent rampage” Friday afternoon after crashing a van into Classic Jewelers in Anaheim Hills. Owner Ramzy Tabello attempted to defend his shop, but the mob seized his handgun and stole custom jewelry worth nearly $1 million. Tabello recounted the terror, stating, “I said, ‘I have a gun, get out… They saw my gun on the counter. They grabbed it.'”
The heist spiraled into a high-speed chase ending in two separate multi-vehicle collisions in Fullerton that injured several innocent drivers. Anaheim police arrested all eight suspects after they attempted to flee on foot into surrounding neighborhoods, recovering diamonds scattered among the wreckage. Sergeant Eric Anderson noted the group’s organized methods, remarking, “This is someone who had a plan,” though police ultimately thwarted their escape.
