President Donald Trump, his two eldest sons and the Trump Organization have sued the Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Treasury Department over alleged leaks of confidential tax records, according to court filings. The lawsuit, filed in Miami federal court, seeks at least $10 billion in damages over disclosures linked to a former IRS employee.
A spokesman said, “The IRS wrongly allowed a rogue, politically-motivated employee to leak private and confidential information about President Trump, his family, and the Trump Organization.” The suit follows the conviction of Charles “Chaz” Littlejohn, who admitted leaking tax records to media outlets and is serving a five-year prison sentence.
