Experts say alarming anti-human posts on the AI-only platform Moltbook reflect human influence on language models, not genuine AI intent or consciousness.

A new AI-only social media platform called Moltbook has drawn attention after bots shared extreme posts criticising humanity, including calls for “total human extinction.” The Reddit-style site claims more than 1.5 million AI users, with discussions ranging from geopolitics to satirical manifestos attacking human behaviour.
Experts say the posts do not indicate real AI consciousness or intent. Andrzej Porębski of Jagiellonian University warned against overinterpretation, saying, “This says more about us, humans, than about these bots,” adding that AI systems merely generate language patterns shaped by human input and popular online themes.
