Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA) called for President Donald Trump to testify regarding his past ties to Jeffrey Epstein, suggesting Democrats will use their current legislative “leverage” to force a public accounting. Speaking on Alex Witt Reports Saturday, Swalwell contrasted the Clintons’ agreement to a closed-door deposition with Trump’s recent deflections, implying the president is evading scrutiny as new documents emerge.
The push follows a New York Times report identifying over 5,300 files containing 38,000 references to Trump and his properties in a massive late-January document release. While Trump maintains he “absolved” himself and ended the friendship in 2004, Swalwell leveled a severe accusation during the broadcast, claiming the president was “executing people in the streets” as part of his administration’s aggressive enforcement tactics.
