Abraham Lincoln remains America’s most revered president in a new poll that places Donald Trump and Joe Biden near the bottom of historical rankings.
A new YouGov survey reveals Americans view Abraham Lincoln as the nation’s premier leader, with 74 percent ranking him “outstanding” or “above average.” Trailing iconic figures like John F. Kennedy and George Washington, President Trump scored just 35 percent in the same categories. While Trump outranked Richard Nixon, over half of respondents labeled his presidency as “poor” or “below average.”
The poll highlights deep partisan divides for modern leaders but relative consensus on historical figures. Former President Biden fell to the bottom with only 23 percent positive marks, as Republicans voiced concerns over a potential midterm backlash. One anonymous lawmaker warned of shifting political tides, stating, “You can feel when the water temperature changes, and it feels like it’s going to change in a second.”
