UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer emphasized that “nobody is above the law” as authorities assess allegations against former Prince Andrew linked to Jeffrey Epstein.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said “nobody is above the law” when asked about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, but declined to comment on whether the former prince should voluntarily speak to UK police.
Speaking on BBC Breakfast, Starmer said the principle “has to apply in this case in the same way it would in any other case,” as Thames Valley Police assess allegations including that a woman was trafficked to the UK by the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The accusations follow the release of US Department of Justice documents shedding light on Andrew’s links to Epstein, including photographs and correspondence.
Starmer reiterated that “anybody who has any information should testify,” suggesting Andrew could appear before the US Congress, while nine UK police forces are evaluating potential investigations into Epstein-related claims and misconduct in public office.
