Democrat Acton leads Trump-endorsed Ramaswamy by 10 points in Ohio governor’s race

A new poll shows Democrat Amy Acton leading Trump-endorsed Vivek Ramaswamy by 10 points in the Ohio governor’s race, reflecting a sharp reversal in voter support amid controversies surrounding Ramaswamy.

A new poll of likely November 2026 voters in Ohio shows Democrat Amy Acton leading Republican Vivek Ramaswamy by 10 points, 53% to 43%. The survey, conducted by EMC Research from Feb. 10–22, marks a reversal from August 2025, when Ramaswamy held a 10-point lead in the same race.

Ramaswamy’s campaign faces challenges within his own party, with only 65% of Republicans backing him, compared with Acton’s 82% support among Democrats. Analysts note his relocation of Strive Asset Management to Texas and a far-right harassment campaign have fueled skepticism, while questions over his proposed tax plan and controversial campaign donations have added pressure.

Acton’s appeal is bolstered by her working-class background, healthcare experience, and strong support from women voters, who now back her 56%-37%. Despite the Democratic surge, Ohio remains structurally favorable to Republicans, with GOP control of the governorship, both Senate seats, the legislature, and much of the judiciary, making the November race competitive.
