Trump breaks silence: “I told Netanyahu not to attack the gas facilities”

President Trump confirmed he requested that Israel avoid striking Iranian gas facilities to protect the global economy while claiming that U.S. and allied forces have successfully neutralized nearly all of Iran’s strategic military assets.

President Donald Trump revealed during a joint White House press conference on Thursday that he had personally advised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against targeting Iranian gas infrastructure, emphasizing a strategic need to maintain global energy stability. While acknowledging that “sometimes one side does something the other doesn’t like,” Trump maintained that U.S.-Israeli coordination remains robust and that the military campaign, which he termed a “sortie,” is “much further ahead of schedule.”

The President painted a picture of a regime on the brink of collapse, asserting, “We destroyed almost everything they had there: the leadership, the navy, the air force, the anti-aircraft systems, everything was almost completely eliminated.” Notably, Trump explained that while military assets and the defense of Kharg Island were neutralized, physical pipelines were intentionally spared because “rebuilding them takes years,” a move designed to facilitate a faster recovery of energy markets once the conflict concludes.
