Vice President JD Vance is the top choice among conservatives to be the next Republican presidential nominee, winning CPAC’s straw poll with about 53% of over 1,600 votes. Secretary of State Marco Rubio placed second with 35%. “Rubio, who captured just 3% of the vote last year, has risen in prominence in Trump’s second term,” the poll showed, with no other contender topping 2%.
