‘WE GOT HIM’: Trump announces rescue of U.S. Colonel in Iran in ‘daring’ military operation

Donald Trump announced that U.S. forces carried out a complex operation inside Iran to rescue a stranded U.S. Colonel and another pilot in separate missions without American casualties.

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced the successful rescue of a U.S. Colonel from behind enemy lines in Iran, describing the mission as a “miraculous” search-and-rescue operation. The extraction followed a separate rescue of another American pilot a day earlier, both conducted in hostile territory.

“This is the first time in military memory that two U.S. Pilots have been rescued, separately, deep in Enemy Territory,” Trump said, adding, “We will never leave an American warfighter behind!” He said the mission involved dozens of aircraft and demonstrated “overwhelming Air Dominance” over Iranian airspace, with “Zero American Casualties.”

According to reports cited from The New York Times, the operation involved hundreds of special forces troops, warplanes, helicopters and intelligence capabilities. U.S. aircraft reportedly struck Iranian convoys approaching the area while commandos retrieved the airman, who had used a beacon and secure communications device to coordinate the rescue.
