Trump says he’ll announce negotiated deal with Iran shortly

President Donald Trump announced that a peace agreement with Iran has been largely negotiated to end the conflict and reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

President Donald Trump announced Saturday that a peace deal with Iran has been “largely negotiated” to end the conflict and reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

According to Financial Post, the agreement involves the US, Iran, and regional powers, following a six-week ceasefire. However, core disputes over Iran’s nuclear program and sanctions relief remain unresolved.

“An Agreement has been largely negotiated, subject to finalization between the United States of America, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the various other Countries,” Trump posted on social media.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed diplomatic progress from India but maintained strict American red lines regarding maritime freedom and denuclearization.

“The president’s preference is always to solve problems such as these through a negotiated diplomatic solution,” Rubio stated.
