SoftBank Group CEO Masayoshi Son says the artificial intelligence wave is not just big — it’s historic, describing it as “50 times bigger” than the dot-com boom, CNBC reports.
Speaking in an interview with CNBC, Son said AI represents the “biggest technological revolution mankind has ever experienced,” comparing it to the early internet era but on a far larger scale.
He also warned that market corrections are inevitable but called them potential buying opportunities. SoftBank recently announced a massive €75 billion ($87 billion) plan to build AI infrastructure in France, including large-scale data centres. The company is also deepening ties with OpenAI and other tech partners as it bets heavily on long-term AI growth.
