The US president has called for more attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon, effectively urging an escalation of Israel’s war on the country after pushing for a ceasefire.
“I would like to see Lebanon experience a better life. I would like to see a more surgical attack against Hezbollah. I think it should be more surgical,” Donald Trump said in an interview with NBC News recorded on Friday and broadcast on Sunday.
Trump framed the call for more violence as concern for Lebanon, even as Israel’s war has killed at least 3,613 people since March 2.
