A railway worker has died after two freight trains collided in Germany, sending wagons plunging off a bridge onto a road below.
A routine shunting operation turned deadly overnight in Germany. Two freight trains collided, and the impact was so violent it sent wagons tumbling off a bridge straight onto the road below.
According to Punch Newspaper, emergency responders found the body of a railway worker while securing the crash site. Several parked cars were wrecked by falling wagons and debris.
A coach passing under the bridge at the time was also struck by falling wreckage. Luckily, the driver — the only person on board — walked away unhurt.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause, while clean-up at the scene continues.
