President Donald Trump has warned that anyone responsible for damaging Washington’s newly renovated Reflecting Pool could face up to 10 years in prison.
Trump’s not playing around over his pet project. The president has threatened a 10-year prison sentence for anyone behind the alleged vandalism of the freshly renovated Reflecting Pool near the Lincoln Memorial, Fox News reports.
The warning came after photos and videos surfaced online appearing to show damage to the landmark — fresh off a multimillion-dollar restoration.
In a social media statement, Trump claimed the pool suffered a 300-foot gash, chemical contamination, and damaged grass nearby. He said authorities are already on it, vowing that laws protecting public monuments and federal property will be “fully enforced.”
Trump didn’t mince words: destruction or attempted destruction of such assets carries serious penalties. Investigations remain ongoing, Fox News reported.
