Communist supercomputer outpaces American rivals…

China’s LineShine supercomputer has overtaken the US’s El Capitan to become the world’s fastest, performing over two quintillion calculations per second and intensifying the tech rivalry between the two nations.

China just flexed its tech muscle. The LineShine supercomputer at the National Supercomputing Centre in Shenzhen has topped global rankings, churning out more than two quintillion calculations per second — knocking America’s machines off the top spot, The Telegraph reports.

The breakthrough comes as Beijing races to close the gap with US tech giants and beef up its AI game. Experts say supercomputers are vital for AI development, scientific research, weather forecasting, manufacturing and national security.

Expect jitters in Washington — the US-China rivalry is shifting fast, from tariffs to outright tech supremacy.
