Apple has raised prices on the MacBook Neo, iPad, Vision Pro and other devices, blaming a global memory chip shortage driven by surging AI data centre demand.
The AI boom just made your next Apple purchase pricier.
Apple has hiked prices on some of its most popular devices, citing a global memory chip shortage, according to a CNN report. The entry-level MacBook Neo jumps from $599 to $699, while the cheapest iPad rises to $449 from $349. The iPad Mini, Apple TV, HomePod and Vision Pro all got pricier too.
Apple blames booming AI data centre demand for memory and storage chips, which has sent component costs soaring. “We’ve never seen a component price increase this much, this quickly,” the company said.
iPhone and AirPods prices stay put for now — though Apple warns supply pressure across the industry remains intense.
