Grammy-winning singer David Clayton-Thomas, iconic frontman of Blood, Sweat & Tears, has died peacefully at a Toronto hospital aged 83.
According to BBC, the Canadian music legend passed away on Wednesday. No cause of death was disclosed.
Clayton-Thomas helped define the jazz-rock era of the late 1960s, fronting timeless hits like “You’ve Made Me So Very Happy” and “Spinning Wheel.” Under his leadership, Blood, Sweat & Tears sold millions of records worldwide and claimed five Grammy Awards, including the coveted Album of the Year.
From a troubled youth on Toronto’s streets to a legendary Woodstock appearance, his rise was nothing short of extraordinary. He is survived by two daughters.
