According to The Hollywood Reporter, citing preliminary Nielsen figures, Fox’s English-language coverage averaged 24.43 million viewers, peaking at 31.88 million as the Americans held on despite playing with 10 men after Folarin Balogun’s red card.
Spanish-language coverage on Telemundo and Peacock added another 9.1 million viewers, pushing the combined audience to 33.53 million — shattering the previous US soccer record of 26.7 million.
The US faces Belgium in the Round of 16 on Monday.
