Donald Trump has declared the US-Iran ceasefire over after fresh American strikes on Iran triggered a retaliatory attack on 85 US military sites in Bahrain and Kuwait.
Trump Declares Iran Ceasefire “Over”
The fragile US-Iran truce appears to be collapsing. Speaking at the NATO summit in Ankara, Donald Trump declared the ceasefire “over,” branding Iran’s leaders “liars” and vowing to “de-nuke” the country, according to Sky News.
The US military struck southern Iran overnight, calling it punishment for attacks on three tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps retaliated, targeting 85 US military sites in Bahrain and Kuwait, while missile sirens sounded across the region.
NATO chief Mark Rutte backed the US strikes as “absolutely necessary.” The UN’s maritime body has since urged ships to avoid the Strait of Hormuz, warning of a “volatile” security situation following the exchange.
