US LAUNCHES NEW STRIKES ON IRAN AFTER TRUMP SAYS ‘HIT THEM HARD’

The United States has launched a new wave of strikes on southern Iran, according to the BBC, after President Donald Trump warned he would hit Tehran hard again. Explosions were reported in Sirik, Bandar Abbas, Konarak, Chabahar and Abu Musa, with Iranian media citing missile strikes, power outages, and a fire at an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps barracks.

US Central Command said the strikes aimed to further degrade Iran’s ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, framing them as retaliation for attacks on commercial shipping. Trump later said on Truth Social the strikes responded to Iran bombing ships, warning of tougher action if it recurred. Iran had earlier vowed an immediate response to any US attack.
