FBI’s Patel Called to White House as Aides ‘Disturbed’ by Conduct

FBI Director Kash Patel got an unwelcome change of plans Friday. Raw Story reported he was pulled off a Bureau jet headed to Chicago, where his girlfriend was set to perform at a music festival, and told to spend the day at the White House instead.

Patel, described by prior sources as increasingly paranoid about his job security, was reportedly rattled by the sudden order.

The report notes Patel has repeatedly drawn scrutiny for using government jets for personal travel, including trips to see his girlfriend, along with other questionable expenditures like a secretly purchased BMW. Sources told the outlet several top deputies were unsettled by Patel’s conduct, particularly his leaving town during renewed tensions with Iran and reported threats against the president. Others pointed to what they called two unforced errors, starting with an early-morning tweet slamming MS NOW’s coverage of his lifestyle, in which Patel bragged about owning a “gold plated” jet ski.

Communications director Steven Cheung pushed back hard, calling the story “completely false” and insisting there was no frustration over the tweet, which he says several officials, including himself, reposted approvingly.
