Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has vowed revenge for his father’s US-Israeli assassination, hours after Trump threatened to “completely decimate” Iran if any attempt is made on his life.
Iran’s New Leader Vows Revenge, Trump Threatens to “Decimate”
Tensions just spiked again. According to Punch Newspapers, Mojtaba Khamenei, who became Iran’s supreme leader after his father Ali Khamenei was killed in February US-Israeli strikes, declared that “vengeance is the will of our nation and must inevitably be carried out.”
The statement came hours after Trump posted on Truth Social that 1,000 missiles were “locked and loaded” aimed at Iran, threatening to destroy the country for a year if any assassination attempt against him occurred.
Amid the rhetoric, Qatar and Pakistan are pushing mediation efforts, while a key sticking point remains Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz, with Washington reportedly giving Tehran until Saturday to stop firing on ships there.
