Don Lemon says he is “seriously” weighing a run for the White House in 2028, calling it more than idle talk.
Speaking on the Can’t Be Censored podcast, hosted by Karman Wong and Travis Dhanraj, the former CNN anchor said he’s repeatedly been asked whether he’s running, and this time gave a serious answer. “I might,” he said, adding people keep pushing him toward it.
Lemon argued political experience isn’t essential for the presidency, noting the current occupant of the office had none before winning in 2016. He said he believes he’d make a good president, but conceded that mounting a real campaign without fundraising would be difficult.
Lemon has hosted The Don Lemon Show independently since CNN dismissed him in 2023. The New York Post reported he has not formally declared a candidacy but is giving the idea genuine thought.
