Transgender Maine Democrat Senate Candidate Claims He Has Monthly Period Through His Rectum
Transgender activist Ashley Webb, a Democratic candidate seeking Maine’s U.S. Senate seat, is facing renewed attention after past Reddit posts resurfaced in which he claimed to experience a monthly period, with blood exiting through his rectum.
Breitbart News reported that Webb made the statements while discussing his self-described transgender and intersex condition.
According to the posts, Webb said his karyotype is XY but believes he has internal female reproductive organs. He claimed to experience monthly pain and ovulation despite saying scans have not identified a uterus or ovaries. Webb also wrote that, because he lacks what he described as the “proper hole,” the blood from his monthly period comes through his rectum.
Webb, who recently debated fellow Democratic candidates, has said his campaign focuses on healthcare accountability, rural infrastructure, corporate accountability, government transparency, and foreign policy, adding that he wants voters to support his policies rather than his identity.
