Foundation Future Industries, backed by Eric Trump, is developing lethal capabilities for its humanoid robots for military use.
A Humanoid Company Backed by Eric Trump Is Preparing Its Robots for War
Sankaet Pathak, CEO of Foundation Future Industries, says his startup is exploring “kinetic things” for its humanoid robots — his coded way of saying weapons systems — with an unveiling expected in coming months, WIRED reports.
Beyond combat, the company touts uses in logistics, reconnaissance and inspection. Its humanoid, Phantom MK1, has reportedly been tested with Ukrainian forces, part of a wider military push into legged, autonomous systems following decades of Pentagon-backed humanoid research.
Eric Trump, the president’s son, serves as both investor and chief strategy adviser, having called the robots’ capabilities “a very beautiful thing” for military and industrial use during a Fox Business appearance.
Founded in 2024, Foundation acquired Boardwalk Robotics, tying it to Florida’s IHMC research institute. Experts, however, remain split on how close fully autonomous combat robots really are to deployment.
