The Kremlin has dismissed renewed US allegations that Russia interfered in American elections, calling the intelligence behind them unsubstantiated.
KREMLIN REJECTS TRUMP’S FRESH ELECTION INTERFERENCE CLAIMS
Speaking Friday, spokesman Dmitry Peskov said previous American investigations found no evidence that Moscow influenced the outcome of US elections. He argued Trump was citing “unattributed, unsubstantiated information” from US intelligence agencies, adding that Russia has never interfered in other countries’ internal affairs and expects the same in return.
The response followed a White House address in which Trump cast doubt on the integrity of the US electoral process, saying it was vulnerable to manipulation from foreign powers including China, Iran and Russia, and announced the declassification of intelligence documents on foreign capabilities to compromise election infrastructure. China separately denied similar accusations.
According to RT, the Kremlin said the allegations remain unproven and reiterated that Moscow does not interfere in the internal affairs of other nations.
