The Pentagon kept quiet about dozens of American injuries suffered during a string of Iranian attacks in Jordan, US officials told the New York Times.
In the week before Friday’s strike on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base — which killed 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, and left one service member missing — Iran hit US forces in Jordan three separate times, wounding dozens and destroying helicopters. None of it was disclosed.
Officials said CENTCOM isn’t required to report injuries when troops quickly return to duty, and withheld details partly to stop Iran refining its targeting.
More than 400 US personnel have been injured and at least 16 killed since February.
