Police Scotland has launched a new investigation into sexual assault allegations against former Harrods owner Mohamed Al Fayed, tied to his Balnagown Estate in the Highlands.

Police Scotland said the inquiry follows new evidence and confirmed investigations are ongoing. Officers have appealed to anyone with relevant information to come forward. Earlier investigations into complaints against Al Fayed did not result in criminal charges.
Al Fayed, who died in 2023 aged 94, has been accused by hundreds of women of sexual assault and abuse spanning several decades. The latest probe adds to continuing efforts by UK authorities to scrutinize allegations against the late billionaire and how earlier complaints were handled.
